Abstract
Two patients with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis who died of fungal infection were described; one had Candida albicans meningitis and the other had Cryptococcus neoformans meningitis. Four other patients with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis and invasive fungal infection, 3 with cryptococcosis and 1 with histoplasmosis were reported previously. Immunological profiles on these 6 patients revealed no differences from those of other patients with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis without invasive fungal infection. Three of the 4 patients who received amphotericin B were cured of their infection; 3 patients died, including 1 patient with overwhelming cryptococcosis who had received intensive antifungal therapy and transfer factor. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
