THE DISTRIBUTION OF RADIOACTIVE IODINE IN HUMAN TISSUES: NECROPSY STUDY IN NINE PATIENTS*

Abstract
The distribution of I131 in human tissues was studied in 6 female and 3 male patients at autopsy. They ranged in age from 37-80 yrs. 51 tissues and fluids were studied. The resulting data are presented in tabular form. Estimates based on these data were made of the amt. of radiation which "non-target" tissues might be expected to receive in the course of therapy with I131.
