Abstract
Rate constants have been determined for the hydrolysis and deuteriolysis of o-sulphobenzoic anhydride in 90% dioxan and for the solvolyses in five alcohols containing either 6·67% dioxan or ether. The hydrolysis is subject to negative salt effects. The results are discussed in terms of solvent properties. Keywords
