Classical SU(3) gauge theory and magnetic monopoles

Abstract
We construct a topologically stable solution to the pure Yang-Mills SU(3) gauge field equations (without scalar fields) which corresponds to a point magnetic monopole. There is no SU(2) analog to this solution.Keywords
