Abstract
The growth-stimulating activity of dl-hexa-hydro-2-Oxo-l-furo (3,4) imidazole-4-valeric acid (HIV) under conditions in which biotin was the limiting factor Was detd. for Lactobacillus arabinosus, L. casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. HIV was 50% as active with L. arabinosus and 40% with L. casei as natural d biotin. With S. cerevisiae the growth curve of HIV differed from biotin. The name dl-oxybiotin is proposed for HIV.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
