Abstract
The disappearance of 5-amino-4-chloro-2-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone (pyrazon) from soil was studied using Brassica species for bioassay and the spectrophotometer and chromogenic reagents for chemical determination. Loss of pyrazon from soil appeared to be an exponential function of time characteristic of the activity of soil microorganisms. On the other hand, non-biological degradation appeared negligible. Leaching of pyrazon appeared to be insignificant or minor. The greater part of the herbicide remained in the top 3 inches of soil. Keywords
