Abstract
D’Anjou pear trees 20 years old which had been heavily infested with codling moth the previous year were sprayed with Dimilin (Ent 29054) for control of codling moth, Laspeyresiapomonella. Each plot consisted of 5 single-tree replications in randomized block design. Sprays were applied with handgun from a portable orchard sprayer operating at 600 psi at about 800 gallons per acre. Three spray schedules were tested as follows: 1. a petal fall and a second-brood spray; 2. two sprays against first brood; 3. a single second-brood spray. Treatments were evaluated by examining 100 fruits per replication at harvest for worm entries. In plot 1 only 400 fruits were available for examination. Keywords
