Abstract
In this paper we give a tutorial overview of the field of digital image processing. Following a brief discussion of some basic concepts in this area, image processing algorithms are presented with emphasis on fundamental techniques which are broadly applicable to a number of applications. In addition to several real-world examples of such techniques, we also discuss the applicability of digital image processing to one particular field, that of medical radiography. Keywords
