Abstract
Guinea pigs dermally sensitized by application of phenylhydroxy-lamine were tested against a variety of chemically related compounds. The reaction was found highly specific. It is postulated that sensitization depends on the formation of a redox system with the homologous nitroso-derivative and not on the oxidation to compounds with quinone structure.
