Regioselective Formation of C-Centered Radicals Using the Intramolecular 1,5-Hydrogen Atom Transfer

Abstract
A regioselective method for the formation of C-centered radicals using an intramolecular 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer from a C(sp3)-H bond to an aryl radical is described. The efficiency of the process depends on conformational effects rather than on the stabilization of the final radical by the adjacent substituents.
