Abstract
The problem of choosing the proper criterion for judging bacterial death after exposure to germicides is again raised by comparing plate counts with serial dilution tubes made in parallel before and after exposure to Cl. No agreement was found between colony counts and serial dilutions after exposure. Growth was observed in as high serial dilutions after chlorination as before. The type of organism used, the compositions of the media employed, the manner of securing smooth emulsions of the culture before exposure and the temperature of incubation are not included. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
