HAEMACCEL 35 - UNEXPECTED REACTIONS IN A MULTICENTER PROSPECTIVE-STUDY

Abstract
Polygeline (Haemaccel 35, a blood volume expander) was tested in a prospective and multicenter study. Of 1147 patients, 9 (0.78%) experienced anaphylactoid side effects (8 cutaneous and 1 systemic). A new polygeline preparation caused some minor (histamine liberation .ltoreq. 1 ng/ml), but no severe systemic anaphylactoid side effects.
