Abstract
A method of quantitatively surveying seaweed beds is descr. The results of 3 surveys indicate that the spp. of Laminaria most common to the Scottish coast do not grow in measurable quantity below 17 m. and that it would be uneconomic to harvest them below 11 m. The density of growth is very nearly inversely proportional to depth, except in the Bay of Firth. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
