Abstract
Hybrids between H. vulgare and H. parodii were produced at a frequency of 22% of pollinated florets. Chiasma frequency per cell in the hybrids was 7.46 compared with 3.08 in the polyhaploid of H. parodii. The increased chiasma frequency in the hybrids was attributed to an increase in pairing between homoeologous chromosomes of H. parodii and there was no obvious homology between genomes of the 2 spp. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
