Abstract
The first stage of the process (the excitation of autoionized 3P(-) states by electrons) and its second stage (the resonance ionization of the helium atom) are considered on a unified basis within the framework of Fano' s theory using the diagonalization method for the description of the properties of autoionized states. A qualitative comparison of the results obtained with the existing experimental data is made. Keywords
