Abstract
Summary: Serum reactivity to erythrocytes sensitized with pepsin digested anti-Rh antibody Ripley was found to be almost universal in 795 undiluted sera. The donor Ripley himself showed a titer of 1:40 with sensitized cells. Pepsin digested globulins of negatively reacting sera showed the same degree of inhibition as pepsin digested globulins of positively reacting sera. Specific immunizations with Brucella and Vi antigens had no influence on the titer of this anti-globulin factor. Only a minimal degree of digestion of the globulin molecule is necessary to reveal the hidden determinant. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
