Abstract
Goal planning is a method which has been used successfully at the Gloucester Centre with profoundly mentally handicapped adults from May, 1978 to April, 1979. In this article I will briefly describe the Gloucester Centre including the philosophy of the Centre, organisation of the Activities Centre and the residents' day, the residents involved in the programme; Goal planning based on Houts with an example, the present situation and goal planning with an example, based at Kushlick. I am sure that as you read the article you will see the relevance of goal planning to other areas of Occupational Therapy. Keywords
