Abstract
This paper discusses briefly the distribution of harmonics in single-phase transformers and in three-phase banks of single-phase transformers. Two-winding transformers or three-winding transformers, where the harmonic current exists in two of the windings only, are considered. Formulas for the distribution of harmonic currents between primary and secondary circuits are given. Data and results from tests on small experimental transformers in the Research Laboratories of the Electrical Engineering Department, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and also from field tests on a bank of power transformers and a transmission line, have been reproduced. Both in laboratory and field tests calculated and measured values check to engineering accuracy. Keywords
