Abstract
Blood clotting factors and inhibitors were compared in 11 subjects with essential hyperlipemia and 10 normal persons. While the usual method of thrombo-elastography showed a significant reduction of clotting time in hyper-lipemic subjects, group and individual tests indicate that the factors tested do not behave uniformly. No difference was seen in the Quick test, Stypven lecithin test and in factors II and IX, or in blood antithrombo-kinase and antithrombin II. A significant reduction in factors V and VIII is discussed as being possibly the result of a coagulation defect due to attrition and manifested in the prolonged partial thromboplastin time. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
