Abstract
This discussion concerns the effectiveness, acceptability, side effects, mode of action and safety of norethynodrel and norethindrone, the two oral contraceptives approved by the FDA. It also reviews the current status of the question of a causal relation between norethynodrel and thrombotic episodes. Keywords
