Abstract
CONTENTS PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS In a previous communication1 the respiratory metabolism of typhoid patients as determined by means of the small Benedict respiration apparatus was discussed in detail. The literature of the subject was also reviewed, making repetition here unnecessary. Following this earlier work it was possible to continue the study of the typhoid patients by using the respiration calorimeter of the Russell Sage Institute of Pathology in Bellevue Hospital.
