Abstract
We study the effects of multiple scattering on the elastic incoherent cross section of neutron backscattering. The cross section is found to be enhanced within a narrow cone centered around the backscattering direction. An antienhancement of intensities is predicted, provided that spin-flip scattering is dominant. Keywords
