Abstract
MOLECULAR DYNAMICS STUDY OF IRRADIATION-INDUCED DEFECTS IN VITREOUS SILICA By computer simulation using molecular dynamics, point-defect creation in silicon dioxide glass by low-energy primary knock-on atoms has been investigated. Preliminary results concerning the nature of the defects created and the existence of focused collisions between oxygen ions in the glass structure are reported. Keywords
