Stokes-Adams Syndrome in Hodgkin's Granuloma

Abstract
IT IS OUR PURPOSE to present a case in which Stokes-Adams attacks and evidence of heart disease were the first and continuing manifestations of Hodgkin's granuloma. Although it was a matter of some satisfaction that the correct etiologic diagnosis was made before surgical intervention confirmed its presence, this was so only after several diagnoses which seemed more probable had been discarded. In a recent article in The Journal Jakob and Zirkin1 presented 3 cases of involvement of the heart or pericardium in an autopsy series of 15 cases of Hodgkin's disease (from Mt. Sinai Hospital). Based upon their review of the literature they comment that this is a much higher incidence of cardiac and pericardial involvement than is usually found. Jackson and Parker2 in their classic monograph found not a single case of myocardial involvement in 63 autopsy cases of Hodgkin's disease; there were, however, 2 cases showingKeywords
