Abstract
The author postulates that during the process of the reduction of nitrate N in plants other materials will be ozi-dized with the formation of acids as citric and malic. When the source of N is NH3, formation of reduced compounds is stimulated. Data are presented to show that under nitrate nutrition the leaves contain more acid than under ammonia nutrition. Similarly reduced compounds are encouraged under ammonia nutrition and the caoutchouc content in kok-saghyz is about 1/3 higher when the N source is NH3 than when it is nitrate. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
