Abstract
A magnetic critical phase transition which involves no change in symmetry is described theoretically. In the example, Yb6 Fe10 O24 with applied field along [100], a critical point is predicted at Tc=7.51°K and Hc=43640 Oe. There is a large associated anomaly in CH: CH(H=Hc)0.3(TTc)1δ1R mole1, where δ should realize the classical value 3.
