Abstract
Total reaction cross sections for the alkali atoms with chlorine molecules have been obtained by direct measurement of alkali atom transient decay rates. The results are Na, 124 Å2; K, 154 Å2; Rb, 190Å2; and Cs, 196 Å2. These results are accurate to about 15%. The relative accuracy within the alkali atom sequence is about 5%. The results are compared with theoretical calculations. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
