Unemployment Among Low-Income Women: An Exploratory Study

Abstract

Many working women, as well as men, have experienced permanent loss of employment due to deindustrialtzation of the American economy. This article reports on the effects of job loss and unemployment on a group of female garment workers and their families. Guidelines for service programs and future research are suggested.
