Abstract
The paper presents metrological properties of strain gauge manometer with an active element, built in form of cylinder with free ends. The cylinder behaves like infinite cylinder and its deformation depends on pressure only, beeing independent on the stress resulting from the connection to the pressure system. Such arrangment minimizes strain hysteresis and assures accuracy class better then 0. 1%. Since the deformation can be calculated precisely, the device does not require calibration and it may be used as a primary pressure standard. Keywords
