Abstract
The enthalpy of reaction of tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane with 0.1 N HCl has been measured using an isoperibol solution calorimeter, employing a modified quartz thermometer and an automatic digital data acquisition system. The enthalpy value obtained at 298.15 K is 245.93 ± 0.26 J · g-1. Particular attention was given to possible sources of systematic error in the electrical calibrations. Keywords
