A Urinary Bladder Tumor in a 65-Year-Old Man

Abstract
A 65-year-old man was admitted to his local hospital for hyperplasia of the prostatic gland. A transvesical intervention was performed and the prostate gland removed. Light microscopy of sections from the gland revealed a benign hyperplasia with no carcinomatous areas. During surgery, a small tumor was by chance observed in the dome of the urinary bladder. This smooth, firm tumor measured 1.4 cm in diameter and had a brown-yellow cut surface. It was removed and prepared for light microscopy.
