Abstract
The electron-electron relaxation due to the interaction of electrons with vector photons in impure superconductors is investigated. It is shown that the conditions under which a superconductor may be considered clean or dirty and the conditions under which a superconducting film may be treated as three or two dimensional with respect to the electronvector-photon interaction are different for the scattering and recombination processes. We also compare the obtained results with the relaxation times due to the electronscalar-photon interaction and the electron-phonon interaction in an impure superconductor.
