Abstract
The static behavior of torque meters, based on the principle of magnetic stress-anisotropy, has been thoroughly investigated for a device configuration suitable for incorporation in a rotating shaft without loss of accuracy. A design and operating procedure has been developed which will readily yield a device having a transfer characteristic which is reproducible and linear to within plus or minus 1 percent of its rated output. With relatively simple precautions this can be improved to plus or minus 0.2 percent, and the strong possibility of improvement to 0.1 percent is indicated. Keywords
