Abstract
Hadogenes zumpti Newlands & Cantrell 1985 (Scorpiones, Ischnuridae), from the Richtersveld, South Africa, is redescribed. This is the only species of Hadogenes Kraepeiin 1894 in which the adults of both sexes are without a lobe at the base of the movable finger of the chela. The significance of the presence or absence of this lobe as a character within Hadogenes, particularly with respect to the taxonomically difficult Hadogenes tityws (E. Simon) species complex, is discussed. Keywords
