Abstract
A class of suppressors effective on nonsense polarity mutations suppresses several independent mutations in a gene ( capR ) that controls ultraviolet-radiation sensitivity and capsular polysaccharide synthesis. Since these ochre suppressors function at the level of translation of messenger ribonucleic acid into protein, the results provide evidence that the product of the capR gene is a protein.This publication has 34 references indexed in Scilit:
