Abstract
Mouse renal adenocarcinoma (Rag) cells, not related to L [mouse fibroblast] cells, rosette with erythrocytes from sheep and mice. The Rag-cell rosettes are formed in suspension and on coverslips. Microscopically they rosette like human T [thymus-derived] cells. No virus-like particles were found between the rosetted cells. The sheep erythrocyte binding ability of Rag cells is very different compared to human T cells. The former cannot be impaired by trypsin-EDTA treatment nor inhibited by rabbit anti-human thymocyte immunoglobulin, sodium azide or sodium iodoacetate. Two hybrid clones of Rag-human lymphocytes show rosette characteristics similar to the Rag cells.
