Abstract
Chromosome numbers are reported for 128 collections of Mexican grasses, representing 45 genera and 101 species. First chromosome records are reported for the genera Mesosetum and Setariopsis and the following 28 species: Aegopogon cenchroides, Aristida barbata, A. glauca, A. roemeriana, Arthraxon quartinianus, Bouteloua elata, B. refiexa, Cenchrus multiflorum, Digitaria diversiflora, Distichlis palmeri, Eriochloa lemmoni, Leptochloa fascicularis, Mesosetum pittieri, Muhlenbergia implicata, M. minutissima, M. tenuifolia, M. utilis, M. ramulosa, Panicum decolorans, P. molle, P. pampinosum, P. parcum, Paspalum convexum, P. costaricense, P. crinitum, Setaria adhaerans, Setariopsis latiglumis, and Stipa virescens. Chromosome numbers that are different from previous counts are reported for 16 species and the first Mexican records are presented for an additional 29 species. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
