Abstract
On the sites which are in the neighbourhood of barite lodes the barium absorbed by ceramics during their burying is very important when dealing with ceramics which percentages of lime are high. It is weak in case of ceramics without lime. The relation between the percentages of lime and the rates of barium absorbed by ceramics is illustrated in the case of Olbia (Hyères in Var Dept.) where ceramics belonging to 14 different types have been studied. This relation can be interpreted by the growing of baritic zeolites from glass phase. This phase is quite developped in the case of ceramics with high lime content. A similar phenomenon although less important is observed for strontium. These observations are dealing only with ceramics well baked (about 900 °C).
