Abstract
The infrared spectra of HBr–HCl mixed crystals consist of a band characteristic of chains of similar molecules plus a line caused by the end molecule in any chain, this structure being repeated in the HCl and HBr regions. The frequency of HBr when hydrogen bonded to HCl is higher than when bonded to another HBr; that of HCl is lower when bonded to HBr than when bonded to another HCl.Keywords
