Abstract
The word acropachy is derived from the two Greek words ἂκρον extremity and παχύς thick. Thyroid acropachy is a rare and late manifestation of hyperthyroidism in which there is a swelling of the extremities and clubbing of the fingers or toes or both. The swelling is associated with a characteristic type of periosteal new bone formation. It is more common in the hands than in the feet. Apart from the visible swelling the condition itself does not cause any symptoms. Keywords
