Abstract
Only one visible phenodeviant has previously been reported in the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis Boheman (Thomas and Brazzel 1960). The single individual showing an abnormal antennal character did not pass the trait on to any descendant in F1, F2, F3, or backcross generations. Since a need exists for genetic markers suitable for use in boll weevil research and control programs, a screening investigation was undertaken to find new genetically controlled phenodeviants. Keywords
