Abstract
The rickcttsia of Rocky Mt. spotted fever has been recovered from A. americanum nymphs collected from vegetation near Weathers, Okla. Old and recent case data suggestive of the transmission of spotted fever by this tick are discussed. The evidence of spontaneous infection in A. americanum, together with the suggestive case data, is considered sufficient to establish this tick as the 3d sp. transmitting spotted fever to man in the U. S.Keywords
