Abstract
Several factors are discussed which may contribute to the apparent resistance of Sciara to the mutagenic effects of irradiation. New data are presented which support the view that the visible mutation rate induced in this genus is lower than that found in Drosophila or Habrobracon, and reveal a high dominant lethal mutation rate in this genus. Keywords
