Abstract
The noncooperative binding of the E. coli DNA unwinding protein to single-stranded DNA oligomers was studied by equilibrium dialysis. Dialyses were performed under a number of solution and temperature conditions using oligomers of varying length and base composition. From Scatchard analysis of the binding and other results, a model for the cooperative binding of the proteins to single-stranded DNA is proposed. The interaction of the protein with single-stranded RNA is also presented. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
