Abstract
Models for outdoor radon progeny near the Earth's surface provide improved predictions of progeny disequilibrium if two effective particle size groups are used and particle diffusion through a thin laminar sub-layer just above the Earth's surface is included. Calculations with a new computer code, RPOUT, are compared with new data. An unanticipated finding is a prediction of situations where the activity concentration of a progeny can exceed that of its parent nuclide. This finding provides theoretical support for previously reported controversial observations. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
