Abstract
How common is epilepsy in pregnancy?Population based studies indicate a prevalence of epilepsy in pregnant women of up to 0.7%,1 although register based studies have reported prevalences of 0.2-0.4%.2 3 Women other than those with epilepsy take antiepileptic drugs, however, as they are increasingly being prescribed for psychiatric disorders and neuropathic pain disorders.
