Abstract
Summary: A method has been described for enhancing the biologic activity of human complement by treatment of whole human serum with a critical concentration of iodine. The effect was due to oxidation of the second component of the complement system (C2) contained in the serum. This chemical modification increased the activity of this component to the point at which it no longer limited the complement reaction sequence. Keywords
