Difficulty for the Weinberg model of $CP$ nonconservation through Higgs-boson exchange

Abstract

We evaluate the

CP

-violation parameter

\frac{ε^{'}}{ε}

in the Weinberg model of

CP

nonconservation. When gluon-exchange effects are included, we find

\frac{ε^{'}}{ε} \sim - 0.045

, which is in conflict with the experimental measurement

\frac{ε^{'}}{ε} = - 0.003 \pm 0.015

.
