Abstract
Twenty patients, affected by mitral disease associated with tricuspid insufficiency and selected for mitral commissurotomy on the basis of clinical evidence of advanced heart disease, have been studied before and after surgery. The further course of the disease could be related to various clinical and pathophysiologic conditions, the importance of which in the selection of patients is stressed. Keywords
