Fertilizer use efficiency

Abstract
Foliar fertilization is attracting renewed interest as an efficient and economic way of supplementing nutrient supply. The present state of foliar fertilization is illustrated, and its advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Encouraging results demonstrating increased pesticide efficiency, when combined with foliar fertilizer formulations are presented and preliminary practical results of yields maintained by supplementary nutrient spraying, despite reduction's in recommended soil fertilization levels are also shown. The great potential of foliar fertilization as a means of alleviating soil and water pollution is stressed.
